Can I/How do I get an Indianapolis Public Library card?

As a student at the University of Indianapolis, you are eligible for a card with the Indianapolis Public Library.

There are two ways to apply for one:

  1. If you are a resident of Marion County (the county that Indianapolis is in), then you can actually apply for a card online through here.
  2. If not, then to apply as a college student, you can complete an application in person at any of their 24 branch locations. You must also provide a photo ID and proof of residency.

Proof of residency may include:
  • Mail postmarked within the last 30 days
  • Current lease or checkbook with your address
  • University of Indianapolis course schedule with address
  • Any official University of Indianapolis document with your address
