How Long Does It Take?

ILL requests are processed Monday-Friday and there is really no set time for how fast we can obtain materials. It could take anywhere from 1 day to 2 weeks depending on how fast the other libraries respond to our request and in what method they send the request. We will try our hardest to get the material to you in the fastest possible way.

How To Pick Up Requested Materials

When the requested items are received by the library, the requester is notified by email. Books can be picked up at the circulation desk during all library hours.

Books received through ILL must be returned at the Circulation Desk by the date indicated on the banner.

Placing Renewal Requests

Renewals are determined by the lending library and must be placed before the current due date of the item expires.

  • Log into My Library Account.
  • Click on the "Requests" tab.
  • Find the item you would like to renew. If there is a renewal button, click on the button and your request will be placed. You will receive a confirmation email letting you know your renewal request has been placed.
  • If there is no renewal button, the item is not eligible for renewals.
  • Once the lending library responds, you will receive another email with the new due date or letting you know the lending library denied the request. If the request is denied, you will need to return the book on it's original due date.

Downloading Articles

There are 2 ways for you to access and download your articles.

  • You will receive an email when your article is available for download.
  • The email will provide a link and password to download your article.
  • The email will also have a link to your My Library Account. Click on that link and click on the "Requests" tab. Any article that is available for download will have a link.
  • Under this link you will see how many downloads you have left and the date the link will expire.
  • Please download your articles and save them to your computer. Once you reach the download limit (5) or expiration date (30 days), the article is gone and we will not be able to retrieve it or order again.
